We are the largest municipal CUPE local in Eastern Ontario

Included in our ranks are thousands of full-time, part-time and casual workers who work in city halls, libraries, municipal long-term care facilities, community care access centers, social housing projects, humane society, as well as parks and recreations facilities. Whatever the job - from health inspectors to mechanics, administrative support to technicians, trades people to librarians, health care workers to equipment operators - CUPE 503 is there, making sure its members are treated fairly.

A strong union - providing serious help to our members While our membership is diverse, there are no second class members in our local. Everybody is important - and everyone gets the services and expertise they need to protect and improve their working conditions.

And because we are part of CUPE, the largest Canadian Union - we are able to provide our members with serious help when they need it. Help like this:

• Workplace Safety and Insurance representation, (WSIB) expertise for injured workers
• In-house service representatives, full-time labour representatives and national representatives to address workplace issues as they arise
• A contracted in-house legal team - located in our building - with some of the best labour lawyers in the country
• Public relations and lobbying experts to make our case to government, the media and the general public
• A defense fund to protect and assist members
• And our own building where members meet, hold functions and receive training
